Softbank Mobile gets first corporate client for iPhone 3G

Finally, Japan’s third largest mobile operator that has exclusive deal for iPhone 3G, Softbank Mobile, win the first corporate contract with BearingPoint, USA based management and technology consultancy. The deal reveals that Softbank will provide 1000 handsets for company’s analysts and workers around the country. BearingPoint said adopting the iPhone with the aim of improving the productivity of its consultants and helping them access information more easily.

This deal hopefully will boost Japan’s consumer/corporate animo to iPhone 3G. Although there are some rush of excitement when welcoming iPhone 3G in Japan, right now the animo has gone. iPhone 3G can’t beat sophisticated Japan phones that is more practical to local people. iPhone 3G can’t adopt Felica-e-wallet and e-payment-or 1-seg digital TV. For smartphones, iPhone 3G sales is not as high as HTC’s Windows Mobile.
