What’s the difference between BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Storm?
The two BlackBerry devices has attracted our attention recently. Despite of the difference in touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard thing, is there any other difference between these two beautiful gadget? Mostly the feature of those two are the same. They both have HSDPA network, GPS, camera, BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry Maps, etc. Yet of course there are some differences between those two.
Based on GSMArena’s side-by-side comparison, here are some differences I found between BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Storm:
- Network: Bold can work for HSDPA 850/1900/2100 (Triple Band HSDPA), while Storm can only work in HSDPA 2100 MHz frequency and CDMA2000 1x EV-DO (only for 9530 series)
- Dimension and Weight: Bold has 114 x 66 x 14 mm and 133 grams, while Storm is heavier in 155 grams and 112.5 x 62.2 x 14 mm measurement
- Display: Storm definitely outperform Bold with 360×480 pixels (3.25 inch) and Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate. Bold in other side has 480×320 pixels, that I think sufficient enough
- Wi-Fi: Bold has Wi-Fi, 802.11a/b/g, while BlackBerry Storm has not! Too bad
- Camera: Bold has 2 megapixels camera, while Storm has 3.15 megapixels camera. Better resolution doesn’t mean better quality
- Battery: Bold is equipped with Li-ion 1500 mAh, bigger than Storm that only has 1400 mAh. But Storm’s battery life is claimed to have better standby time and talktime. According to its official specs, Bold claims to have up to 13 days days (Standby time) and up to 5 hours (Talk time), while Storm claims to have 15 days (Standby time) and 5.5 hours (Talk time). Does Storm has better battery management?
So, which one is more suitable with your preference?

I choose for Blackberry Bold because of two things : wifi enabled and long life battery.

According to its official specs, BlackBerry Bold claims to have:
* Up to 13 days days (Standby time)
* Up to 5 hours (Talk time)
While BlackBerry Storm claims to have:
* 15 days (Standby time)
* 5.5 hours (Talk time)
Which means BlackBerry Storm has longer battery life than Bold.
