Microsoft Silverlight for G1 and iPhone?
Not only Adobe Flash Lite that detects the potential of mobile market (for its business). Its competitor, Silverlight, created by software giant, Microsoft, will try its luck in this area too. For this time, Silverlight is aimed to be provided for iPhone and T-Mobile G1. Yeah, American technology for American phones.
Mobilewhack noted:
Microsoft is reportedly very interested in pushing Silverlight on Apple’s devices. But it’s well known that Apple ultimately controls what software runs on the iPhone - so good luck Microsoft. However, the story is quite different when it comes to the G1.
We know that Apple is very protective for its toy. Third party has no freedom on creating iPhone app. Different story with G1, which is built under spirit of open source. I think Microsoft way will be rockier in iPhone, but better in G1.
Moreover, MobileWhack cited that Microsoft’s Silverlight has been in use on the Web by companies such as NBC to stream video from this summer’s Olympic games and is Adobe Flash’s main contender in the multimedia rich browser plug-ins. Microsoft launched version 2 of the Silverlight browser plugin earlier this week.
