Gmail’s emoticon is supported by Japanese cellphones

It is nice to have this information, for Japenese of course. Lately, Gmail introduces new emoticon (known as emoji in Japan) in their mailing system. Thankfully, the emoji now is supported by Japanese cellphones (either DoCoMo, KDDI, and Softbank).
If you are sending email from Gmail (from computer) to cellphone, some emoji will appear in the inbox. Of course not all emoji can be converted. It is said that the emoticon insertion project was led by Google Japan team [link in Japanese]. That’s why the emoji format can be supported by Japanese phones.

The news is only about Gmail, not any other service
