Samsung Omnia will be available in Japan

Softbank Mobile, the third largest mobile operator, announced to release Samsung Omnia for GSM market. Powered by latest Windows Mobile, Samsung Omnia is quite accepted in Asia, especially because of its GPS system. In Japan, Omnia will be named as 930SC and be equipped with standard Japan’s TV digital, One-Seg.
One-Seg mobile phones support a full suite of digital TV functions, such as reception of data broadcasts that provide information on the current TV program, the ability to check program content via the EPG (electronic program guide), and TV program recording.

That’s great to hear. Now, I’d love to see it in Korea. Can you believe that this is NOT in Korea! I’m going crazy with the lack of smartphone options in the land of Samsung and LG.
Not only does WIPI keep companies out, but so do Korean carriers and companies. So, want a smartphone? You have a choice between 3-year-old models with WinMobile 5 or propriety systems that are locked down tight.
