Mixi is pre-installed in all Softbank phones, started with 931SH

We know Facebook, MySpace, and Friendster. They all are popular social networking site. But do you know that those sites are not that popular social network in Japan? The most prominent social network site in Japan is Mixi, a local creation. One strategic move by Mixi is becoming pre-installed widget in all Softbank phones, started with 931SH, a phone features an 3.8-inch XGA screen with unbelievable 1,024×480 pixels.

The agreement with Softbank Mobile, the third largest mobile operator with more than 15 million subscribers, will definitely boost Mixi rank in social network war. The widget makes it possible to view new message coming from Mixi friends, new diary entries and comments. Users will also be able to access the social network with the push of just one button.

Earlier this year, Mixi has made the same agreement with Sony Ericsson and Nokia. There are three models to be included, Cyber-shot S0905iCS, Cyber-shot W61S, and Nokia N95 (also known as Softbank X02NK). I think Facebook and MySpace way on breaking Japan’s barrier will be rockier than ever.
