Nokia released affordable phones in India

Nokia, the largest Finland based mobile manufacturer, is ready to conquer-more-on low level phone area. It is no secret that despite of the hype of its new sophisticated phones, like 5800 XpressMusic or latest Eseries and Nseries, most sales are scored from entry level phones, cheap and affordable, in most emerging countries. Now, Nokia wants to refresh its line ups in this area by announcing six new devices in India. The price ranges from EUR 25 to 90 a piece.

The cheapest among them is Nokia 1202, a standard non color phone with flashlight, extended battery life, loud ringtones, and a phonebook for up to five users. The lowest price for color phone is EUR 30, tagged to Nokia 1661. It includes FM radio and large color screen. Nokia 1202 will be available this Q4 2008, while 1661 is on market by early 2009.

We also get three new classic series, 2320 classic, 2323 classic, and 2330 classic. The naming are quite similar since definitely they will have similar features too. All devices will support Mail on Ovi and Nokia Life Tools. The differences are 2323 classic will have FM radio with recording and Internet browser, while 2330 classic has the additional integrated camera, beside those mentioned for 2323 classic. The price ranges from EUR 40 to 50 and be available in Q2 2009.

Nokia 7100 Supernova is a phone we have captured before. Back then we called 7110 (re-creation), but now it dubbed to 7100 Supernova. Designed for style and entertainment, the colorful device is highlighted by its large, high resolution color screen, FM radio and a 1.3 megapixel camera and support for Share on Ovi, Nokia’s online photo sharing service, and other photo sharing sites. The Nokia 7100 Supernova also includes support for Mail on Ovi, as well as a browser for surfing information on the Internet. The Nokia 7100 Supernova is expected to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2008 with an estimated retail price of 75 EUR.

The last in the list is the new line of XpressMusic, Nokia 5130 XpressMusic, affordable music phone. The device will have dedicated music keys, a digital music player, FM radio and a standard 3.5 mm connector for headphones. Equipped with an integrated 2 megapixel camera, the Nokia 5130 XpressMusic also supports image sharing through Share on Ovi, as well as the Mail on Ovi email service. The Nokia 5130 XpressMusic is expected to begin shipping in the first quarter of 2009 with an estimated retail price of 90 EUR.
