China Mobile to develop Ophone, own cellphone OS
If Nokia has Symbian, Google with Android, and Apple is proud with its Mac; the largest China mobile operator, China Mobile, is going to develop its own proprietary cellphone OS. Named as Ophone, the OS is developed by number of telecom vendor, including Lenovo.
An insider with Lenovo said Ophone is a deep customized product, with almost all services of China Mobile embedded. I think it is part of China independency to Western technology. Two thumbs up for China!
