Nokia to use Linux platform for high end phone?
After launching the latest multimedia phone, N97, Nokia has started to seek for new technology implementation. According to Ukko Lappalainen, Vice President at Nokia’s market unit, Linux will become a serious alternative for Nokia’s high-end phones.
Linux based platform has gained more popularity, thanks to the development of Google’s Android. But, Nokia is not interested at all to Android. As it has its own version of Linux, called maemo, to serve its Internet tablet, most likely Nokia will boost maemo development to meet Finn company’s requirement of cellphone OS.
When will that happen? Let’s wait the confirmation, probably next year.

I think this is not first time for Nokia developing Linux platform for their device, Nokia has been using Linux for their recent tablet device before, I hope there is several upgrade in maemo. Let’s wait and see. — rosgani(at)gmail.com

@Rory Hansen
Any specific word where I bullish on Linux? The source said that Nokia hates Android to boost its own maemo. They are all Linux.
