BlackBerry Bold is coming to South Korea this December

A bold move by RIM, entering South Korea right after the local gov’t change the rule about mobile regulation standard. RIM and its local counterpart, SK Telecom, will market BlackBerry Bold 9000 for corporate users by this month. Most likely, the phone will come this Dec 29, although SK Telecom spokeswoman wasn’t said so.

The Korea Communications Commission has announced to abolish the requirement on April 1, that can attract foreign smartphone makers that previously have shied away for extra cost on modifying the phones to be complied with Korean regulation.

In other hand, it is not impossible for now to use a BlackBerry in South Korea. Some foreign businesses that operate in the country have set up accounts with providers in Hong Kong and had their employees use them in South Korea by utilizing the roaming function.

@Amir Karimuddin: Why don’t you put a Bold image rather than 88xx series? hehehe, but this is a good news, especially for Korean people.
