Samsung’s CDMA phones in India: M309 and M569
I haven’t heard much about CDMA network in India until this story comes up. Apparently India has several CDMA operators, like Reliance Mobile, Tata Indicom, and Virgin Mobile. Anyway, Samsung has launched its new MPower series for Indian market, named M309 and M569. Both phones are using cards, so the phone can be used inter operate between those operators.
Both phones support high speed wireless data up to 153 Kbps (not that “high speed”, I guess) and can be connected as modem to laptop or PC. M569 is packed with 2.1 inch color LCD screen, 2 megapixels camera, FM recording on MicroSD card with up to 4GB, Bluetooth with stereo headset function, equalizer and surround sound, video recording, MMS, and document viewer. The price tag is Rs. 9,900 (about US$ 210).
Samsung M309 has 1.9 inch screen, 1.3 megapixels camera, Bluetooth with stereo headset function, MicroSD support for up to 4GB, video recording, and MMS. The phone will be yours for Rs. 6,300 (about US$ 130).
