Japan: voice translation tool for iPhone
This tool must be useful for Japanese speaker who would like to learn more about English or Chinese. Softbank Mobile, the third largest operator which also the exclusive partner of iPhone in Japan, currently is promoting Speeek, a voice-enabled electronic dictionary application that translates Japanese to English or Chinese.
This app uses voice recognition technology to identify up to 1,500 spoken phrases for tourism situation or basic conversation. This software is initially designed for Japanese travelers who are known often traveling worldwide and mostly have problem with English speaking. Of course this tool can also be used by English speaker who would like to learn Japanese.
The application is available for 1,800 Yen (about US$ 19.88) and can be obtained here.
