Indonesia’s Indosat: BlackBerry outlet and two new products

Yesterday, we reported that Indonesia’s Indosat, country’s second largest operator was holding a launching of BlackBerry Curve 8900, also known as Javelin. Apparently, their main attraction is not only Javelin. Indosat setups a dedicated BlackBerry Branded Outlet which is located in Plaza FX Sudirman. The place is very strategic in the downtown. On this place, consumers may able to buy all kind of BlackBerry devices and subscribe for postpaid plan. BlackBerry Branded Outlet also offers software update and file download for free. I wil update about the store condition once I manage to visit it.

Back to the launching, Indosat finally unveiled two-not only one-BlackBerry devices that officially enter Indonesia’s market. They are BlackBerry Curve 8900 (tagged with IDR 7,250,000 price or about US$ 650) and BlackBerry Pearl 8220, also known as Kickstart, for IDR 5,550,000 (US$ 500). Kickstart is the first BlackBerry device with clamshell form factor and aimed for active women.
