Premier 3, Sony Ericsson Walkman for KDDI au
Quite unusual naming convention, but this one is the new Walkman series of Sony Ericsson for KDDI au. A CDMA powered phone, Premier 3 form factor is more to a camera phone than a music phone. The phone will be available by Q2 as part of Spring Collection 2009.
According to Akihabara News, the phone will featurea nice little 3” VGA like screen (854 x 480), a 3.19 AF camera module, the LISMO Video (Video on Demand), microSD Cards (no internal memory, but the phone is sold with a 2GB card), all pack together in a body of only 113g and a size of 50×105x16.3mm. This phone also include a dedicated remote control for its Walkman functions.
Well, the specs itself tell that the phone will not use Sony-own’s Memory Stick, and will use microSD instead (or maybe the source doesn’t put it?). As part of reducing cost, due to large number of loss, Sony will not push another Memory Stick usage anymore? This move will definitely make everybody happy, except for the people working on Memory Stick plant.
