new iPhone on June?
When Etisalat, Emirates telecom operator, signs a deal to bring iPhone to UAE and Saudi Arabia, they have signaled that new iPhone will arrive on June.
Mark Davis, Program Director for iPhone at Etisalat, later spoke with Dow Jones and revealed the precise launch date to be February 15th. The same report went on to say that the “next version of the device, which is due out in June, will be launched in the UAE at the same time.”
It means that the iPhone 3G will be available in the area since February and will be replaced by the new iPhone, directly. We know that iPhone 3G was launched last year on June also.
New evidence is the leak of iPhone 2.1 codename reference, which probably means a major breakthrough to the current model. iPhone and iPhone 3G was referred as iPhone 1.1 and iPhone 1.2 respectively.
