Meet Toshiba TG01, the first 1GHz phone with Windows Mobile
Current smartphones mostly powered by 400-600 MHz processor. Sometimes it is called as slow machine, but sometimes it can carry any kind of work in just seconds. What if a phone carries a processor as large as netbook processor? My guess depends on the Operating System run on top of it. If the phone is bulked with Windows CE, for example, I don’t think it will run as smooth as expected. But what if the phone is running with current Windows Mobile?
Meet Toshiba TG01. Funny thing that this phone is announced by Toshiba Europe, not Japan. The launch itself was held in London. The phone is guaranteed to be the next contender of iPhone, especially with similar form factor. Unfortunately, the phone doesn’t carry the upcoming WinMo 6.5, just 6.1. Albeit, the phone has all the netbook has, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 4.1 inch WVGA screen, HSDPA and HSUPA, WiFi, GPS, and support H.264 and DivX files. The browser also have full Flash support.
Toshiba TG01 is expected to be available in Europe (not Japan!) on summer. Err.. what happen if the phone uses Android? Read more hands on review at Slashgear.
