Idou, 12 megapixels camera phone from Sony Ericsson
![]()
It has 12 megapixels camera. Holly molly, who will take snap with such enormous picture size? Sony Ericsson has to admit that its strategy for 2009 is (again) to boost its Cyber-shot and Walkman catalogs. Back to Idou, the phone that will hit the market on Q2 will be equipped with S60 5th edition. After the UIQ is dead, seems like Symbian S60 will be the new main preference, although Sony Ericsson also have Xperia with Windows Mobile and upcoming Android-based handset.
Phonereport is having a preview about the Idou, the first Sony Ericsson to be introduced without its final name. The form factor itself reminds me of LG and Samsung current line ups, an iPhone wannabe with full touchscreen display. Some specs added into this 5800 look alike include SDPA, Bluetooth, DLNA-certified Wi-Fi, an accelerometer (motion sensor), microSD memory card slot, USB 2.0 connectivity, and A-GPS. The Idou has a 3.5″ touchscreen display with 360×640 pixels of resolution. It is definitely larger than Xperia with 111 x 54 x 15mm dimension.
Although the picture example taken with Idou isn’t available yet, Phonereport has shown us the availability of both LED flash and Xenon flash, sitting on metal plate. There are lot of promises by Sony Ericsson and this one should be failed or Sony Ericsson will be thrown down by the harder mobile competition these days.
