Nokia unveil new service: Nokia Media Network

World largest mobile manufacturer, Nokia, unveiled their new service in Mobile World Congress 2008. The premium advertising network, Nokia Media Network, to include more than 70 leading publishers and operators. AccuWeather, Discovery, Hearst, Reuters, and Sprint have joined with Nokia to form the first global mobile ad network of top tier publishers.

Singapore’s Singtel for mobile advertising

The Singapore's largest operator, Singtel, unveiled the plan on entering mobile and internet advertising business and to lead it within next 5 years. The new strategy will involve delivering an end-to-end advertising solution across four key areas – inventory creation and control of customer information, media planning, advertisement delivery and advertising campaign performance tracking. The mobile and Internet advertising industry in Singapore is estimated to be worth more than $200 million by 2012. Source: adoi magazine

Microsoft setup ads for mobile service

As the mobile market grows heavily, IT giant Microsoft, tries to catch the train by offering advertising optimize for mobile screen. People will be able to see mini banner ads optimized for their browser type and screen size on their mobile devices when they visit the MSN Mobile portal, which works on any mobile phone, said Phil Holden, director for online services for Microsoft.

Google purchases mobile social networking company

Following the rumors about the Google Phone or GPhone, Google is sending a clear message to the market: the Internet giant company is really really serious about the mobile ad market. Google's latest acquisition is Zingku, which implemented technology that allows mobile phone users to send photos, friend invites, and conduct polls through a universal platform. Zingku, a tech start-up working on social networking for mobile phones.

MySpace launches ad-supported mobile Internet service

It's a new option for MySpace users who don't want to pay premium prices for its service. Fox Interactive Media today announced that MySpace will launch an ad-supported mobile Internet version. With more than 80 million potential U.S. mobile visitors per month, MySpace Mobile Web beta will be available to consumers this week. According to InfoSyncWorld, within the new MySpace Mobile Web experience, free functionality will include the ability to: send and receive MySpace messages and friend requests; comment on pictures and profiles; post bulletins; update blogs; find and search for friends; and view or change mood status.
