Korean operator, KTF, confident to bring iPhone to Korea. KTF plans to sell iPhone by next year. “We want to (sell it in Korea), but Steve Jobs has been playing hard (in the negotiation),” said Kim Yeon-hak, executive vice president.

Korean third largest manufacturer, Pantech, announced their new line up. It is Pantech Sky IM-S250L, a sliding phone with non-heavy specs. It features 1.3 megapixels camera, electronic dictionary, and MP3 player. It also has QVGA screen and Internet radio capability. It will be available yet for Korea market only.

Korean manufacturer, LG, launched 2 new phones. Both are categorized as music phones. The first one is Rhapsody LB3300. Another sliding phone, it has touch wheel for music navigation, music lyrics playback capability, and has a special Bluetooth headset set-up, that allows two persons to listen to music simultaneously.

SteamIron, claimed to be the true Real Time Strategy (RTS) mobile games, will be launched next January 2008 for Korean market. The game will feature multiplayer RTS game for 3G handsets, short and fast-pace game session, and real time 1-vs-1. It is created by Singaporean based studio, Mikoishi.

Emirate based telecommunication company, Etisalat, reported to buy 16% stake of XL, third largest Indonesia’s telecom company. Total price amounted US$ 438 million.
