What a great idea by Nokia. If we have relatives or friends who are unable to see the phone display for making call or create message, now we can recommend Nokia N82 with special technology. Why is the phone becoming so special? Thanks to the cooperation with National Federation of the Blind and Kurzweil Technologies, text can be converted into speech with text-recognition application.

NSN with Indonesian’s Global Mediacom is its biggest mobile TV agreement

Global Mediacom, one of the largest Indonesian media group, agree to adopt Nokia Siemens Network solution on bringing mobile TV to Indonesian commercial world in the first half of 2008. The technology is based on Digital Video Broadcast-Handheld (DVB-H) and will be the NSN's biggest mobile TV agreement worldwide.

Worm spreads out among Nokia handset

Fortinet, a security vendor, announced that several worms have been infected various models of Nokia phone. Fortinet's threat response team warned on Monday that the worm, identified as SymbOS/Beselo.A!worm, is able to run on several Symbian S60 enabled devices. These include handsets such as Nokia 6600, 6630, 6680, 7610, N70 and N72 handsets.

Nokia’s Q4 earning is expected to rise

Thanks to powerhouse holiday season in Europe and massive selling of cheap phone in Asia, Finland's Nokia predicts to obtain rises in earning on Q4 sales 2007. Also, struggle situation dealt by US's Motorola increases the market share of his own. Nokia is expected to have sold 130.7 million phones in the quarter, more than its three closest rivals combined, and giving it a market share of 39.5 percent. Nokia is scheduled to release its numbers on Jan. 24 at around 11.00 GMT, with a conference call scheduled for 13.00 GMT. Source: Reuters

Facebook in every Nokia phone?

Facebook and Nokia now in a conversation on bringing the rising social network site into every new Nokia phone produced. By signing this agreement, it will be one step ahead for Facebook against its closest rival, MySpace. Nokia is also reported to be negotiating with Facebook about buying a small stake in the company and an unnamed executive confirmed that "a partnership is in the works". Source: guardian

Nokia to turn Romania to be world biggest mobile factory

Due to the closing of its factory in Germany, which becomes controversy, Nokia plans to to turn its Romanian factory to be the biggest mobile factory in the world. It is hopefully to be realized by the end of 2009. Local newspaper, Ziarul Financiar said, the factory to open on Feb. 11 near the Romanian city of Cluj, is hiring about 100 people a week and intends to employ 3,500 people.

Nokia to close German plant

Due to lack of location competitiveness, Nokia plans to close its German manufacturing and automotive supply unit plant in Bochum. The moves would reduce Nokia's work force by 2,300 positions, or about 2 percent. Currently they are in talk to sell the plant to India's Sasken Technologies.
