Symbian powered 30 million Japan’s phone in 2007

Symbian turned out to be successfully delivers service for 30 million Japan's phone until November 2007. To date, a total of 69 mobile phone models based on Symbian OS have launched in Japan by six Symbian customers: Fujitsu, Mitsubishi, Nokia, Motorola, Sharp and Sony Ericsson. Definitely a breeze for Symbian since nowadays the competition among mobile operating system is getting tougher with Windows Mobile, Linux and Mac (as in iPhone). Source: intomobile

New UIQ Version?

The picture is obtained in one presentation at Smartphone Show 2007. We can see the logo of UIQ in the slide. Could it be the new operating sytem that will replace current UIQ 3 series? There is rumor that this OS will be used in Maria, as Sony Ericsson's iPhone competitor. Source: JustAMP

3GWeek Rumor: Sony Ericsson new line ups

Sony Ericsson is rumored to create competitor for iPhone. The phone, codenamed Maria, will focus on media features with solid user interface. There might be another mid-to-low end smartphone that will assign as P600. This maybe a M600 with 2 megapixels camera. A next one will be ultra high-end smartphone, named P3i, but this will not be its final product name. It will run under new UIQ Operating System, not UIQ 3.0, and will compete with Nokia N95 and E90.
