Smackall Releases MMOG by SMNA

Smackall, a leading mobile entertainment solution provider announces the release of massively multi-player online game (MMOG) available on selected Java-enabled mobile phones through the SMNA Technology. The game is played on a board with 7 columns and 6 rows, which is placed in a vertical position. The players have 21 discs each, distinguished by color. The players take turns in dropping discs in one of the non-full columns. The disc then occupies the lowest unoccupied square on that column. A player wins by placing four of their own discs consecutively in a line (row, column or diagonal), which ends the game. Nokia Mobile TV Using DVB-H

Nokia recently announced a new commercial DVB-H pilot in Stockholm with Teracom in Sweden. Nokia is supplying the Nokia Mobile Broadcast System 3.0 and Nokia N92 mobile TV devices to the pilot which will last from October to December 2006 and includes 400 consumers. The project is a co-operation between ATG, Boxer, Nokia, Sveriges Radio, Sveriges Television/UR, Telenor and Teracom. The pilot participants will be able to watch fourteen TV channels and listen to four radio channels in the Stockholm city region, where a network has been built for high quality indoor and outdoor coverage. HP Provides 3G Cards for W-CDMA and EV-DO

HP seems ready to enter the potencial 3G market by providing two kind of card in notebooks for both 3G W-CDMA and CDMA2000 1xEV-DO. Wireless equipment vendor Sierra Wireless today announced that HP has selected its HSDPA PCI Express Mini Card embedded modules to provide 3G connectivity in the firm's forthcoming 6400 notebook PCs. For non-GSM markets such as the US and Asia, the Sierra Wireless MC5720 EV-DO PCI Express Mini Card embedded module will be incorporated in the HP Compaq 6400 notebook. Read more

3G Access in Thailand Airport

Alcatel Hurts on 3G ‘Pricing War’

Alcatel Inc. reported strong growth in its fixed-line business during the first quarter, but intense competition in mobile network equipment sales hurt the company’s operating margin, which rose to 6.5 percent from 4.1 percent a year ago, but fell below analyst expectations of 8 percent. The French equipment vendor posted first-quarter net profits of $129.1 million from sales of $3.8 billion.
