About Camera Phones

Posted in: Nokia, Tips & Trick, Cell Phone, Handset

Most cell phones nowadays have a camera, but this does not make them “camera phones”. If you want to replace your digital camera with a camera phone, you need more than a cell phone with a camera. And remember that megapixels isn´t everything.

If you want a really good camera phone you should consider things like is the lens made of plastics or is it made of real optics. And do not believe what the sales man in the phone shops tells you. Nor should you look at the phone manufacturers example pictures taken with a phone. In most cases they are for promotional use and have been taken in an ideal light conditions or studio.

I say you should use our friend Google or some other search engines and look for real life pictures taken with the phone you are about to buy.

Here´s some real life examples of pictures taken with three different Nokia phones. There are three samples you see that the quality varies a lot and none of the phones mentioned here can replace even a low-end digital camera. At the moment the only Nokia that can compete with a digital camera is the Nokia N90 or maybe the N80.
