Vietnam’s 3G attracts investors

Vietnam, as the second fastest growing telecom market in ASEAN, has been a ‘hot’ point in the region for foreign investors.
The statistics show that over 40 million people have access to the telephone and 17 percent of its population currently use the Internet.
Development of 3G network in the country, for instance, was a ‘hot’ issue for foreign investors.
Masayuki Hirata of Japan’s NTT DoCoMo, said his company is very interested in developing the country’s 3G technology, which includes wireless voice telephony and broadband wireless data.
The country’s revenue from telecom, information technology and the electronics market would reported bring in close to 3.5 billion USD this year and between 6-7 billion USD by 2010.
