3G CDMA in Japan Continues to Grow

The third generation (3G) technology in Japan continues to grow. More than 50 percent of cellular subscirbers in Japan are 3G CDMA now, a senior manager Qualcomm told Asia Tech recently.
According to Takayuki (Ted) Nozaki, Senior Manager Business Development Qualcomm Japan, as of end of February, number of 3G CDMA subscribers of each carrier was as follows: NTT DoCoMo WCDMA: 22,015,000, KDDI 1x/1xEV-DO: 21,159,600 and Vodafone WCDMA : 2,736,200.
Therefore, Ted said, 50.5% of total cellular subscribers in Japan (90,767,700) became 3G CDMA. [3G!]
