Nokia launched Ovi

Finally, in CES Nokia announced its service regarding online service application. Christened as Ovi, which is Finnish of "door", is new suite of applications, allowing user to experience some excellent functionality on the mobile web. A few of the applications include things like Nokia Maps or access to the N-Gage gaming market, but the emphasis on Ovi lies within Nokia's Ovi music store.

Nokia warns for fake products in Philippines

Nokia Philippines warns communities not to buy fake handset in local market. A team from the Asia Pacific region is now coordinating with local enforcement agencies to conduct an investigation on the sale of these fake products, which is likely violating the company’s brand, said Nikka Singson-Abes, corporate communications manager of Nokia Philippines Inc., in an interview.

LG watch phone

In the latest Consumer Electronic Show, finally LG launched "a phone". Well, not yet physically a phone since it is actually a watch phone. Not like Sony Ericsson's bluetooth watch, which only use watch as bluetooth receiver, this watch is really a phone. It has menu and we can use it to talk (must be via handsfree). DoCoMo’s i-channel surpassed 15 millions subscribers

NTT DoCoMo announced that their i-channel services surpassed 15 millions subscribers on January 3, 2008. i-channel is a push service that automatically sends scrolling-text headlines to a phone's standby screen. The headlines come from the i-channel site, which is arranged into five information channels: weather, news, sports & entertainment, horoscopes and recommended i-mode sites.

The use of bluetooth headset among ladies seems growing everyday. But as most of the user are male, functionality comes first instead of design style. Sony Ericsson answers it by launching bluetooth headset with female touch.

Motorola acquired Singapore’s Soundbuzz

For expanding MOTOMUSIC campaign, Motorola acquired Singapore based music download site, Soundbuzz. The price tag for this transaction is not disclosed. The acquisition, which is subject to customary conditions, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008.

Sony Ericsson’s first announcement in 2008

As predicted before, Sony Ericsson unveiled some new handsets in Consumer Electronic Show, Las Vegas. There are 3 new phone in their line ups. Two Walkman phone, W760 and W350, and a clamshell phone, Z555.

Nokia N95 8GB new firmware boost performance

The latest firmware of Nokia N95 8GB can make their owners jump in happiness. The new 15.0.015 version brings quite significant performance. The main among them is the added Flash Lite 3 and full flash video support, means that we can view Youtube in full web version.

Samsung to launch cheap phone

Korean largest mobile manufacturer, Samsung, plans to launch the line up of cheap phone. It will be sold in emerging countries to take the share of mobile industry. One more strategy to beat Nokia. The phones is planned to be offered in India, Southeast Asia, and South America.
