Nokia to use AMOLED display?
It is rumored that Nokia is looking for reliable manufacturer who know how to create active matrix OLED (AMOLED) display screen . Nokia is planned to use it in near future. What’s so special about this AMOLED compared to regular screen? The reason are:
- brighter
- more color-rich (compared to LCD)
- thinner
- more power-efficient
Seems like AMOLED is going to bring revolution in phone screen industry. For years, we are using standard TFT screen that I think quite old to catch up with the advance of nowadays technology. is the cooperation between AU Optronics and TPO Display–both Taiwan screen manufacturer–to make experimental AMOLED display for Nokia.
Some believe that cooperation will last until the launching of the first Nokia to use AMOLED screen in 2009. It is predicted to be a new trend, even iPhone probably will use it in the future.
