Motorola wi4 mobile WiMAX for the rest of the world
Yesterday, April 8 2008, Motorola (must be not their mobile phone division) proudly show cased their mobile WiMax technology at The WiMAX Forum Congress Asia in Singapore.
Just like any other shows in mobile phone or technology industry, Motorola presented what experienced users could get from this technology. Lets pick some of them here; video conferencing, web browsing and mobile streaming. All of them at no interruption (based on their press release though). Yeah definitely cool!
Yet there are still other advantage users can get from this technology; that it could make users’ laptops enabled with Motorola’s WiMax PC Card experiencing high speed video. To made this show goes on, Motorola use their WAP 400 access point with backhaul provided by Motorola’s wireless IP backhaul equipment.
When we read such news like this from Motorola, we would know that this company surely has two face which in my opinion both of them is in need of such a surgery.
At this moment, Motorola has 19 contracts for commercial WiMAX networks in 18 countries around the world including in Thailand with UIH (United Information Highway) and Pakistan with Wateen. How about in India? I am still looking for the answer, yet you should even know that mobile WiMax is Tata’s business. Great competition will be happen there.
