On defending Friendster Mobile

Friendster Mobile is crying … because of you?
Ok boys and girls, listen to papa here. After I told you this one, please don’t try to sue FS mobile again. But if you still, go head cause they will answer you with the same stuff. At least after they had done with this.
Here is the excerpt from the FS Mobile FAQ:
Question:
Some of my testimonials, messages, or friends are missing. Or items I delete are back.
Answer:
Friendster has made a number of recent changes to our service to improve your experience and make things faster. One of those changes is to make sure that you are always connected to the fastest server we can provide you at any given moment. This change however means that as you move around on our service, you might be connected to a server that has not been updated with your latest data (like new messages or testimonials) or recent changes you made. The result is that you might see things missing from your profile, or added back to it, until all of our servers are updated with the changes to your profile. One thing you can do is simply use the refresh button on your browser to reload the page from a different server. Doing this once or more times should bring back your data. We are working on this particular issue right now and hope to have it cleared up soon.
All things run badly then …
Some of commentators in my previous blog posts always complained on the same issues:
- I can’t see comments and testimonial (itha)
- Same with itha … i can’t read any comments … (citra)
- I CAN’T READ and REPLY MY COMMENT and TESTIMONIALS (Starr)
- i cant see my whole comment (pradzt)
- I CAN’T READ MY COMMENT N I CAN’T REPLAY IT .. (AndRiaNy)
- Now I can’t read comments. (lou)
However, besides those honest sentences, there are still another serious problems too which I unfortunately can’t find it on the FAQ. This list below will be a good feedback for FS developers there. Enjoy this fellows:
- can’t update with enjoyable, and the most important i can not go back to desktop version (itha)
- please remove this irritating mobile version,or just give the user an option, desktop or mobile view (irsa)
- Give me the better, the comfort. Not like this!
What next?
If only those commentators had lived on a startup daily life, sure they will have a better view to see this case. And if only I am one of those FS guy right now, I’ll take all of this “sucky stuffs” into a table with my team and start solving it with JSP or PHP, MySQl, Javascript, and off course CSS.
Note:
Perhaps all of us may have a better judgement after asking about FS to its cofounder, Jonathan Abrams. Wired had interviewed him nicely on July 2006. Read it.
Be patients guys!

Hahahah, I DONT need the mobile version too.. very iritating ! I cant read comments, post them back, cant upload photos, so many things i cant do ! hahahahah..
I prefer Facebook much better than Friendster now.. Facebook has its mobile version too, but we can choose which one we want.
NOT LIKE Friendster which automaticly forces us to switch the mobile version and we cant go back to view the desktop version. hahahah.. WTF is this ?
Please kindly fix this and get me back to desktop version !
Friendster is not making things easier but it is getting worse. LMAO.

please bring back the full version of friendster on the nokia internet tablets n800 and n810. they can handle it fine with an 800×480 screen. mobile friendster is useless on it. give us the option with out forcing us to use mobile version by redirecting our browsers. we might have to move on to other social networks if this is not fixed.

I forgot to tell one important step;
“unmark the option ‘include mini url’ and ‘remove client scripts”
in that setting option, MARK ALL the option except that 2 options.

To everyone who has provided us with your suggestions on how to improve Friendster Mobile, thank you for your input. In the coming days, you’ll see us add more functionality. We’ve added the ability to view your comments and your friends’ comments today and we’ll be adding the ability to post, approve and delete comments very shortly. Afterwards, we’ll continue to add more popular features from the desktop version but if you haven’t found what you’re looking for, you can go to http://www.friendster.com from your mobile phone and access the Help page. Thanks again for your feedback.
