Just a week after announcing its 8-Gbyte N95 smartphone, Nokia , the world’s largest cellphone maker, said on Monday it had begun global shipments of N81 and N81 8GB multimedia phones.

Thanks to the selling of low-cost cellphone in Africa, Middle East, and Asia, Nokia roses up its market share to 39% from 36% last quarter. Nokia makes 1.65 billion euros of profit, compared to 845 million of the same period last year. That will count 85% increasing.

It’s the latest addition to Nokia high-end N-series of smartphones. The Finnish phone maker today launched a new Internet tablet, which comes with a slide-out keyboard and a GPS receiver. No WiMAX, but more pocket-friendly.

The inovation on SMS is always withdrawing attention. Nokia has launched a new application, Conversation, offering SMS sorted by contact (think ‘threaded’). Conversation appears standalone and as a tab in S60 3rd Edition’s Contacts.
