Android phone in Singapore on Valentine’s Day?
A rumor comes up that SingTel, Singapore’s largest operator, will bring the HTC-made G1 phone to the country on Valentine’s Day. Powered by Android, the name of the phone itself hasn’t being revealed. If this rumor were true, it will the first Android phone distributed outside T-Mobile’s territory. Previously, the G1 was distributed exclusively in USA and UK by T-Mobile.
According to Singapore law, no phone should be distributed in locked-condition. But the law doesn’t regulate whether the phone’s root-operating system-can be changed or not. We will find out the truth real soon.
