Responding to the Trolltech’s acquisition by rival Nokia, Motorola says they had already over with Trolltech for such period. Motorola built LiMo (the Linux Mobile Foundation), along with five other companies, to collaborate on mobile Linux. As part of its first specification, LiMo specifies GTK. One of most high-profile Linux-based phone implementation is RAZR2 V8.

After the resignation of their CEO and CTO, the declining sales, dull product, and not very convincing plan in 2008, will the American pride join the German once respected, Siemens, to the deadpool?

In creating the technology, Motorola are in cooperation with Canadian company, Angstrom Power. For expanding MOTOMUSIC campaign, Motorola acquired Singapore based music download site, Soundbuzz. The price tag for this transaction is not disclosed. The acquisition, which is subject to customary conditions, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2008.

Motorola launched new sliding music phone for Korea market. Named Z6M, it let you enjoy the music with 3.5mm ear jack. The phone is equipped with 2 megapixels camera and memory card slot. The software available includes file viewer and e-book viewer.

Motorola confirmed naming ZiNE as their “kick-ass” 2008 line up. There will be 2 new phone to come up - at least. The first is the new touchscreen phone. Its dimension is slight big with kick slider and equipped with GPS and Wi-Fi.

Padmasree Warrior, Motorola’s high profile Chief Technology Officer (CTO), will step down from her position following the succession of CEO chair. Warrior, who had appointed CTO since 2003, according to Motorola spokeswoman, Jennifer Erickson, the move was planned several months ago. Her official blog has already being shut down.
